Miles in the snow

Playing outdoors, by Miles

"It is really snowing! It is very snowing! I did eat the snow. We built a snowman in the snow. I was a big boy in the cinema! I will be big soon! Like a big boy! There was a dragon in the bats' tunnel. And the dragon did have wellies on. And this dragon went in the car. The dragon was really scary! The bats were dark. The bats were trying to wake up in the night! A dragon is in that tunnel. It's the biggest I've ever seen! Ella did jump in the mud. And I did fall in the mud. And then I tried to get up in the mud. What did the boy do? Make a wolf noise. Did you hear the wolfs in the wood? And a little boy making a wolf noise? I heard a boy trying to make a wolf noise. Do we want to go to the wood again? Yeah! We were suddenly going into a gate. We were straight away going into a cold gate. And the castle was all smashed. My dragon did smash the castle wall! You have to have wellies in the mud, Daddy. You are a Bogglewood!"

This week it snowed, so Miles went to the park and made a snowman. Having been so interested in the story of The Snowman over Christmas, Miles was surprised to discover just how cold snow really is. Earlier in the week, when it was sunny and warm, Miles went to the woods four times. He explored smashed castle walls and was particularly taken by an old railway tunnel in Sydenham Hill Woods where bats (and possibly a dragon) now live. When not babbling about woods and dragons, Miles read books to himself and spotted more letters. He is getting better at forming the simple perfect of verbs. And he went to the cinema to see "Horton Hears a Who" and stayed until the end, like a big boy. Hooray!
