This was the week that Miles really started to communicate, since he now understands enough words to make his views known, rather than simply pointing out the existence of nearby cars, cats, bottles of beer, etc. So he wakes up demanding milk ("muh") and then goes downstairs for breakfast, where he can say whether he would like toast ("fww-fww"), Cheerios ("mmm"), biscuit ("bih-bih") or apple ("apple"). During the day he will ask for food using interrogative intonations of these words ("bih-bih?", "apple?", "muh?"). He will ask where Ella is, if she is out. If the living room is closed, he will ask if he can go in and see the cat ("aaaah"). He can also say when he wants to go upstairs or up on Mummy or Daddy ("up-up-up"), indicate when his nappy needs changing ("poo!"), say when he wants his bath ("ter-ter-ter") and choose between Maisy ("meh-meh"), Miffy ("mih") and Pocoyo ("poe-poe") books -- or his favourite, "The Wheels on the Bus" ("rah-rah-rah", for obvious reasons). Other new words this week include "Daddy" (not a new word, but now used appropriately; previously, Daddy was often called Mummy), "doh-tih" (sausage) and "eesh" (teeth and leaf). Miles also attended a concert at the Barbican of space music (Holst planets, Star Wars, etc) during which he wriggled -- until Star Wars came on. He likes the Stars Wars music, which he recognises from "Lego Star Wars".
