The world according to Miles

All colours are blue.
All numbers above two are three.
All girls who are not Ella are Georgia.
All fruits and vegetables are apples.
All drinks that are not milk or water are bee-or (beer).

Miles's first verb is "ah-pah" (open), and what a useful verb it is. Miles is mainly interested in opening biscuit tins, doors (using "geesh", or keys) and his computer, which he bashes with abandon before closing the lid. At which point it must be opened again. As well as opening things, Miles has spent a lot of time this week waiting by the front door in the hope that someone in particular (Daddy, Ella, Lee, Georgia) will arrive. He got his first pair of wellies and did some splashing in a paddle. He was initiated into the arcane mysteries of flat-pack furniture. And he went to the Velazquez exhibition at the National Gallery -- some pictures featured apples and hats, he noted -- but was far more impressed by the fountain outside. New words this week include "purple", "hot", "moon" and "wellie". Miles says "deesh" (cheese) when you take his picture and "row row" when singing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat". And "oh dear" has become "oh de-or", which rhymes with "bee-or".
