Could there be a more perfect book for Miles than Robert Sabuda's "Cookie Count: A Tasty Pop-up"? It involves biscuits ("bih-bih") and counting ("wah, doo, vree!"), and it's a pop-up book. So it is proving very popular. Other titles Miles is enjoying include "The Eye Book" and "All Join In". We'll have to have a Books of the Year page, like we do with Ella.

As well as doing a lot of reading, this week Miles has been watching Moomins (variously known as Meenor, Mimoo and Minuh) on the television, drinking milk while lying on a cushion, and drawing with crayons. Since Miles thinks all colours are blue, all crayons are obviously blue too, except for purple, which is purple. And all drawings are, as a result, drawings of "blue". An example follows. New words this week include loo, hello, owl, Wow!, not, "ah-ah" (aha!), "ee" (eat), "bih-pah" (paper) and "dee-or" (draw). Finally, Miles went to the Soho Theatre to see a production of "That Pesky Rat".
