Our Christmas tree arrived this week, and such is Miles's fascination with trees and decorations that we have placed all the decorations high up so that he cannot reach them (or at least not without climbing onto the sofa). As well as admiring the tree, this week Miles spotted aeroplanes (now called "bee", for some reason -- "oh, bee!"), played Ella's electric piano (called "miu-miu", or music, a word that also means iPod), read books (Miles likes to "ree buch", as he puts it) and visited the V&A Museum of Childhood, where he saw a Miffy exhibition ("Mih! Mih!"). Other new words this week include "Char-dee" (Charlie, from Maisy books and Charlie & Lola), "Chee-yo" (Cheerio, a breakfast cereal), "chi" (chip) and digger. Best of all, Miles now says "Mummy" rather than "Mama".
